Everything you need to know about Blogee
Getting Started
What is Blogee?expand_more
Blogee is a free, AI-powered blogging platform. You get a branded blog on your own subdomain or custom domain with AI translations into 7 languages, AI image generation, threaded comments, and an MCP server to connect your AI agent. No credit card required.
How do I create a blog?expand_more
Go to app.blogee.tech/signup, enter your name, email, password, and pick a subdomain. Your blog is live instantly on yourname.blogee.tech.
Is there a limit on the number of blogs I can create?expand_more
No. You can create multiple blogs, each with its own subdomain, branding, and settings. Every blog is fully isolated from the others.
Pricing & Plans
Is Blogee really free?expand_more
Yes. All features are free — AI translations, image generation, custom domains, MCP server, SEO tools, and more. There are no seat limits, no post limits, and no credit card required. We may introduce paid tiers in the future for advanced needs, but the free tier will always remain generous.
Will there be paid plans?expand_more
We may introduce paid plans in the future for advanced features like team collaboration or priority support. The core blogging experience will always remain free.
Do I need my own OpenAI API key?expand_more
Yes, for AI features (translation, image generation, metadata) you need to provide your own OpenAI API key. This keeps costs transparent — you only pay OpenAI directly for what you use, at their pricing.
Domains & Branding
Can I use my own domain?expand_more
Yes. Every blog gets a free subdomain (yourname.blogee.tech), and you can attach any custom domain you own. Verification is done via a simple DNS TXT record — add it to your DNS provider, click verify, and you are done.
How do I customize my blog's appearance?expand_more
Upload a logo and pick an accent color in your admin settings. Changes apply instantly. You can also write a custom about page, add up to 6 navigation links, and choose a blog template.
Can I change my subdomain later?expand_more
Subdomains are permanent once set. Choose carefully during signup. You can always add a custom domain later.
AI Features
How does AI translation work?expand_more
Blogee uses GPT-4o to translate your posts into your enabled languages. You provide your own OpenAI API key. Translations preserve HTML structure, links, images, and formatting. Each translation is stored separately as a post translation with its own localized slug.
What languages are supported?expand_more
Blogee supports 7 locales: English (en), Portuguese Brazil (pt-BR), Spanish (es), Chinese Simplified (zh), French (fr), German (de), and Italian (it). You can enable up to 8 languages per blog.
How does AI image generation work?expand_more
In the post editor, click Generate Image. Blogee uses your brand accent color as guidance and generates a professional blog featured image with DALL-E. The image is automatically uploaded to your blog's storage.
Can I review AI translations before they go live?expand_more
Yes. You can choose between review first (translations saved as draft) or publish immediately mode in your translation settings.
Security & Infrastructure
Is my data safe?expand_more
Blogee uses PostgreSQL Row-Level Security — every database query is scoped to your blog. Your OpenAI API key is encrypted at rest. Storage, cookies, and sessions are tenant-isolated. There is no way to access another tenant's data.
Who can comment on my blog?expand_more
Commenters must sign in with Google OAuth. No anonymous comments, no spam bots. You can moderate replies — soft-delete any comment from the admin panel, and it shows as deleted on the public site.
What happens if my custom domain verification lapses?expand_more
If DNS verification fails (for example, the TXT record is removed), the custom domain stops serving your blog. Your subdomain continues to work. You can re-verify at any time.
MCP & Integrations
What is an MCP server?expand_more
MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets AI agents like Claude Code or Claude Desktop interact with external services. Blogee's MCP server gives your agent 12 tools to manage posts, replies, and settings — all through natural language, scoped to your blog with secure API keys.
How do I connect my AI agent?expand_more
Go to Settings → API Keys in your admin dashboard, generate an MCP key, and paste the JSON config snippet into your MCP client. It takes 30 seconds. No SDK or custom code needed.
